SAT nightmare

i'm taking SAT tomorrow, the most exciting thing in weeks.

and for the first time this year and for many years, i'm walking into an exam hall without any preparation or studying. and SAT reasoning test is prolly the most boring thing ever. there are 3 sections: reading, writing, and mathematics and the test lasts for more than 4 hours! DISASTROUS!!!

the reading section consists of 70 questions and its somehow similar to the international competition for schools english test that we used to take in secondary school. i remember that the first time i took it, i was being pushed into the exam room, clueless and with only a pencil and eraser. i survived the whole test poking myself in the face with the pencil, trying to keep awake; the passages they gave weren't exactly interesting. and although i'd gotten a distinction once, i'd always received COP for the rest of the times i'd taken it. and the conclusion is that english is definitely not NINI THE WISE's area of expertise.

the mathematics section is just as boring, even if i loved doing maths. it could be more interesting if the maths questions require more thinking. doing 70 questions of secondary one level math (which requires on an average of less than 30 seconds each to complete) isn't very entertaining. rather i feel like it's an insult to NINI THE WISE's intelligence.

the writing section isn't particularly as easy for me as math, but i dread it more than anything else, for the fact that the first 40 questions are all testing on english grammar, and there is an essay question which i'm supposed to finish in 25 minutes. gosh. how am i supposed to create a piece of writing that makes sense and shows depth of thinking in 25 minutes when i couldn't even do it in 1 hour? NINI THE WISE can't write for nuts!

on a happier note, i'll be going plaza singapura after the test. i'm gonna treat myself to some good food and i'll buy more yarn! lovely, soft, fluffy yarn! this is to feed my newly rekindled interest in knitting, since i've bought new needles (8mm) and better yarn (which costs a bomb). i realised that the reason why i've always been knitting so slowly is not because i'm a terrible knitter, but because i've been suffering under 2.25mm needles. HORRENDO!

it's just one day but i'm missing leng's muffins and huan's PS2 already. **hint hint**

now i just want SAT to be over ASAP. so that i wouldn't cringe whenever my mum calls me and i'll be finally free.

sore butt

i just came back from malaysia yesterday, with a very sore butt.

and its just due to a short 15 minutes ride on a horse around a 10m by 20m tiny field. and the horse wasn't even running, unlike what you might think, it was just trotting. it's partly because i'm kinda scared that i might be thrown off if it gets too fast, and also because i'm finding it hard to kick its stomach to make it accelerate. i'm not complaining though, who knows what might happen to my butt if i had raced it around the field.

other than that the trip to malaysia was particularly boring. there wasn't any good food to enjoy or interesting places of interest to visit. we basically ate all our breakfast, lunch and dinner at our hotel. shopping wasn't particularly enjoyable either, although the things were comparatively cheaper than in singapore. i just can't seem to shop successfully or enjoyably with my mum. that's why i don't really like shopping, because past experiences (which usually involves my mum) deter me from them.

and i didn't sleep well at all, although we lived in a 5-star hotel. because we lived on a smoking floor, i was haunted by this dreadful smell of cigarette smoke throughout the night. i also strongly suspect that a lack of fangirling is also one of the reasons.

and now i have to study for SAT. this is dumb, just when i was happily thinking i wouldn't have to mug for the rest of the year...
